Exciting Changes Are Coming to James Irwin Elementary at Howard!
We are excited to share a glimpse of what the future of the Howard campus may look like!
The image shown with this update is an artist’s rendition intended to help families visualize our vision for the campus. It is important to note that it is conceptual only, and the finished project will likely look different in a number of ways as designs are finalized and construction progresses.
What will not change is our commitment to making the Howard campus a place that our students, families, staff, and surrounding neighborhood can be proud of.
While our students are temporarily attending the Canada Drive campus this school year, significant work is taking place at Howard. The renovation includes a substantial remodel of the interior of the school, along with a much-needed facelift to the exterior of the building and campus. Our plans include refreshed exterior finishes, improved signage, new architectural features, landscaping improvements, and other updates that will give the school a cleaner, brighter, and more welcoming appearance.
Just as importantly, we are investing in the spaces our children use every day. The playground and outdoor student areas will also be improved, creating more attractive, functional, and enjoyable places for students to play, learn, and spend time together.
Our goal is much bigger than simply making an old building look new again. We want to create a school that feels renewed from the moment families arrive—a warm, inviting neighborhood school where children are excited to come each morning and where families feel a strong sense of connection and pride.
There is still a great deal of work ahead, and we look forward to sharing the transformation with you as it happens. We will continue providing pictures, progress updates, and additional information throughout the year so that our Howard families can watch their school take shape.
We are incredibly excited about what is ahead and even more excited for the day we welcome our students and families back through the doors of a renewed James Irwin Elementary at Howard.
