Amanda Johnson
MS & HS STEM/8th Grade Science Teacher
I am a STEM educator with 10+ years of teaching experience spanning elementary, middle, and high school. I am passionate about helping students explore, create, and solve problems through hands-on learning. I currently teach 8th grade science and work with both middle and high school students, with a particular focus on STEM, competitive robotics, and drones. As a robotics and drones coach, I enjoy encouraging students to think creatively, collaborate as a team, and build confidence through challenges and competition.
Originally from Alabama, I attended the University of Alabama before earning my degree from Austin Peay State University. I was also a military spouse for 20 years, an experience that gave me a deep appreciation for service, adaptability, and the importance of community.
Outside of school, I am a proud mom of two daughters. I enjoy bringing the same curiosity, determination, and sense of adventure that I value in my own life into the classroom and helping students discover what they are capable of achieving.
